From designer fashion to … pickleball? In Natick, a pickleball club is set to replace the shuttered Neiman Marcus store. What to know.

NATICK, MA — Natick residents used to head to 310 Speen St. to add some designer brands to their closet, but as early as next summer, those same folks can now head down in their athletic wear to play pickleball.

Bulfinch has agreed to lease 310 Speen St. — the former location of Neiman Marcus — to Bosse Sports, a company that plans to buildout “the first dedicated pickleball club in Massachusetts.”

The founder of Bosse Sports, D.J. Bosse, is known in the state for his other sporting businesses. Bosse designed and built Bosse Sports and Health Club, formerly in Sudbury, and also operates a facility in Boston that includes seven pickleball courts, a skills arena, a turf field and a basketball court.

Natick’s new pickleball facility will be branded as Bosse Pickle.

“We firmly believe in the transformative power of pickleball, which unites people, promotes physical fitness, enhances mental well-being, and fosters social connections,” said Bosse.

“Whether you are a curious beginner seeking to experience this thrilling sport or aspiring to elevate your skills, Bosse Sports offers a warm and inviting space where you can embark on your pickleball journey.”

Pickleball is often cited as the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. with more than 36 million players according to estimates from the Association of Pickleball Professionals.

According to Bulfinch, the buildout will feature 21 pickleball courts and pickleball training center, a lounge and event space, full-service restaurant and two bars, full locker rooms and physical therapy and personal training.

Bosse Sports has set a goal to be open by the summer or fall of 2024.
